Packaged in a wooden case, this gift box contains two exceptional wines from the Mazzei family estate, Fonterutoli, in Tuscany.
Tirreno, 2015: Tyrrhenus was the charismatic, proud and fearless prince of the “Tyrrhenoi”, who led his people to central Italy, founding the Etruscan civilization and wine culture. The prince’s personality served as the inspiration for “Tirreno”, a wine from the Belguardo vineyards that over look the Tyrrenian sea and benefit from its breezes. It has intense and black fruits, with a fresh and savory finish this is an extremely enjoyable wine.
Codice V, Tenuta Belgaurdo, 2016: an experimental and quality driven Vermentino from Maremma with a mineral character that expresses the unique terroir. Grapes are grown in the coastal southern Tuscan region of Maremma, at 250 metres above sea level. With great minerality, finesse and length, this wine would be superb with roast chicken.
