Each restaurant will be adding a discretionary cover charge in support of 1000 Bamboo Villages who are raising vital funds to help restore 2 million hectares of degraded land in Indonesia through a village-based bamboo industry.
Tropical forests have the highest carbon density of all forest types due to their ability for vast carbon sequestration. As such, protecting rainforests is one of the most effective actions we can take to tackle climate breakdown.
1000 Bamboo Villages aims to empower the rural community of Indonesia to become the leaders of restoring degraded land through a village-based bamboo industry.
All donations will go directly to support 1000 Bamboo Villages to empower rural communities of Indonesia and help them become land restoration champions whilst driving a Village Based Bamboo industry.
In addition to this, from 2nd September, The Petersham, Covent Garden will be serving a Bamboo Village inspired afternoon tea to raise funds for this vital cause. The afternoon tea combines Petersham Nurseries classics with Indonesian-inspired sweets, presented on a beautiful, themed, hand-blown glass centre piece and will be served every Thursday to Saturday from 3pm to 5pm.
