On a rare candle lit evening in October, Petersham Nurseries Café opened its doors in support of this wonderful cause. With 100% of ticket sales donated to the charity, the evening raised just shy of £22,000. A great achievement for a cause that has been close to Petersham Nurseries and the Boglione family’s heart for many years.
Refugee Action helps victims from war torn places who have suffered horrific abuses to their human rights. This charity gives sufferers the chance rebuild their lives in the UK. All the money raised from the event will fund Refugee Action’s vital work.
Their vision is that refugees and asylum seekers will be welcome in the UK. They will get justice, live free of poverty and be able to successfully rebuild their lives.
‘We are very thankful to the Boglione family for their incredibly generous ongoing support, and to the staff at Petersham Nurseries for the warm welcome they gave to us and our guests. It was a wonderful night, with incredible food at an outstanding venue. Refugee Action exists for people who have lost everything. Our work involves enabling them to rebuild their lives and tackling the root causes of the challenges they so frequently face. Evenings like the one at Petersham Nurseries, help us to bring together our friends and supporters to raise urgently needed funds, and to plant hope for thousands of refugees and people seeking safety in the UK. Thank you again to everyone at Petersham Nurseries.’ – Stephen Hale (Refugee Action Chief Executive)
Thank you to all the guests for joining us, and the wonderful photographer, Anna McCarthy, for capturing the magical evening.
