A Charity Banquet in Aid of London Cycling Campaign

Petersham Nurseries hosts a charity fundraising banquet in memory of Filippo Corsini with all proceeds donated to the London Cycling Campaign.

On Thursday 14th March 2019 Petersham Nurseries hosted a very special fundraising event in memory of Filippo Corsini, a young Italian who died tragically while cycling in London in October 2016. All proceeds from the event which was held on Filippos birthday, will be donated to London Cycling Campaign (LCC), a London based charity which represents The voice of cyclists in London.

Since opening in 2004 Petersham Nurseries has been an advocate of sustainable travel, working alongside the Borough Council to produce Green Travel Plans and encouraging staff and visitors alike to take up cycling. It was therefore a great privilege this year to be able to support the Corsini family in both their awareness campaign for road safety and fundraising for the London Cycling Campaign.

Whilst the purpose of the evening was a serious one with an important message, the occasion itself was celebratory. Set within the candlelit glasshouse restaurant, Petersham Nurseries Caf, guests were served a spring banquet with wines from Giovanni Mazzei and the Mazzei estate (husband to Petersham Nurseries Managing Director Lara Boglione). Speeches were made by Filippos Father, Duccio Corsini and the CEO of London Cycling Campaign Dr. Ashok Sinha. Also in attendance was Councillor Gareth Richards, Richmond Borough councils cycling and walking champion. The dinner was followed by a charity auction of some exclusive Italian wines.

We are delighted to announcg that a phenomenal 35,000 was raised during this evening.
