Frappato 2019
Introducing Frappato 2019, an exceptional Sicilian red wine produced in Vittoria, Sicily by Arianna Occhipinti, an extraordinary young winemaker. With a remarkable complexity and tender qualities, this beautifully light young red has notes of cherry, raspberry and white pepper, and truly expresses what a cool Sicilian climate can produce.

With 70 percent of the Frappato being macerated for two months on its skins, and 30 percent staying on the skin for eight months, this wine is beautifully well-rounded yet has a remarkably light quality.

We take our hats off to Arianna Occhipinti, having began working in the industry aged 16, gaining formative years of experience studying viticulture in Milan, and going on to producing her very own label of red vintages at the age of 22. In recent months, Occhipinti’s remarkable Frappato has famously been enjoyed by the likes of Stanley Tucci upon a trip to Sicily, visiting her wine estate which can be seen in Tucci’s travel series ‘Searching for Italy’.
