Getting to Richmond
On Foot or by Bicycle
Our location on the edge of the Thames Embankment and the national cycle route network makes walking and cycling to Petersham Nurseries safe, easy and enjoyable for both adults and children. Please see our website or enquire in reception for possible routes.
In these wetter winter months we would recommend wearing suitable footwear (even wellies).
As parking on Church Lane is extremely limited, we encourage people to leave cars at home where possible. Priority is given to customers buying plants and heavy items. On weekends, limited parking is available at the nearby Russell School, prioritised for restaurant customers (bookings essential). Please drive slowly and with care for pedestrians.
Fast trains operate between Richmond and London Waterloo, taking as little as 15 minutes. The District Line also goes to Richmond. Petersham Nurseries is located a brisk 20 minute walk from Richmond station along the river, or a short bus journey – the no. 65 stops frequently outside the station. There is also a taxi rank outside the station.
South West Trains to Richmond Station from Waterloo and Reading.
Underground and Overground trains run to and from Richmond.
No.65 and 371 depart outside Richmond Station and Kingston town centre, alight at the Dysart.
