Barolo, the king of Piedmont, is a powerful and rustic red with an intense and complex flavour profile. Earthy, with white pepper, tobacco and coffee aromas, it pairs beautifully with tasty food, the best-being truffles. This type of funghi is known for its pungent, earthy character, just like Barolo. White truffles, known as Alba truffles, are from the same region and are one of the highest-regarded truffle species.
