Petersham Nurseries invites Avinash Shashidhara back to host an Indian Vegetarian workshop.  Drawing on experience from his background, heritage and culture Avinash cooks food from his childhood with passion.

Born and raised in India, Avinash moved to the U.K nearly 15 years ago. He has worked at several prominent restaurants including the 2 Michelin starred Hibiscus in Ludlow and The River Cafe in London, where he worked for 10 years until Summer 2018. After years of cooking seasonal Italian food, he is now re-visiting food from his roots in Southern India. He now spends time developing recipes for modern Indian food using authentic flavours, local and seasonal produce - turning them into pop-up suppers. that have successfully run across London, Berlin, Copenhagen and New Delhi.

Indian food is much loved but often hugely misrepresented outside of India. The western understanding of Indian food swings from naan & greasy curries to randomly adding turmeric & spices to food. Cooking good Indian food isn’t complicated with simple seasonal ingredients and this workshop sets out to show just that.

During this hands on workshop Avinash will demonstrate traditional Indian cooking techniques and lead an exciting four-course cookery lesson before you sit down and enjoy your the fruits of your efforts.

NB. Tickets non-refundable and non-transferable.

Please note parking is restricted in the surrounding area and we encourage our visitors to travel via alternative means of transport whenever possible.

There is no dress code however in these wetter winter months we recommend suitable footwear (even wellies!).
