Join chef Rachel de Thample for a day of foraging, tasting and cooking wild seasonal foods.

Join chef and forager Rachel de Thample for a beautiful day celebrating wild food. Not only will Rachel show you how to identify seasonal wild foods, she’ll also show you how to use them in a spectacularly delicious and creative way. In the spring she’ll be focussing on greens, the summer will feature flowers, and, in the autumn, the attention turns to fruits. Sign up for one, or attend all to really see and taste the seasons unfold.

The day will begin with a welcome tea or coffee on arrival and a wild food inspired nibble. In spring you can expect a delicious Dandelion root latte and Fig Leaf shortbread. After an introduction to foraging, you will set out on a foraging walk. Returning at noon, you will taste and learn about at least 12 different seasonal wild foods that Rachel will have pre-foraged.

No doubt you will have worked up an appetite over the course of the morning. Relax over a lunch from Petersham Nurseries Café that will include seasonal wild foods. The foraging day will conclude with some hands on cookery; you will make dandelion kimchi to take home to your store cupboard giving to the opportunity to enjoy these 'blink-and-you-miss-them' seasonal ingredients for a little longer.
