Petersham Cellar Invites you to an intimate wine lunch in Petersham Café, Richmond.

Etna is one of the ‘hottest’ regions for Italian Wine, producing some extremely seductive wines which have a peculiar character mixing volcanic exuberance and high-altitude elegance. Some wine lovers say the red wines of Etna are the ‘Burgundians Pinot Noirs’ of Italy. In the last ten years wines from Mt.Etna (the highest active volcano in Europe) have received many highly respected awards and are now finally acclaimed as some of the best Italian wines. Production is scarce and vineyards are planted more than 1,000 meters above sea level in a moonlike landscape with black rocky volcanic soil.

This is an event not to be missed as we will be opening some great whites and reds from Tenuta di Fessina and Passopisciaro estates, which have vineyards in some of the best locations, and produce special ‘Contrada’ wines, which are considered the ‘Grand Cru’ of Etna.

These refined wines will be carefully paired with a seasonal four course menu put together by Ambra Papa, Head Chef at Petersham Nurseries Richmond.
