Spend the day at Petersham Nurseries mastering fermentation techniques. Chef and author Rachel de Thample will teach you how to make and manage your own sourdough starter, how to make really amazing sauerkraut and kimchi using seasonal produce, you'll also learn about fermenting with honey, as well as mastering a variety of fermented drinks such as kombucha and kefir.

Welcome drinks with a taster of Rachel's sourdough crumpets and honey fermented jam. A chance to view your copy of the recipe pack of all the things you'll learn throughout the day.

An introduction and demonstration of how to make your sourdough starter and sourdough crumpets.

You will make your own sourdough starter to take home.

Demonstration on how to ferment with honey.

Lunch from the Petersham kitchen including a selection of fermented goodies to try.

Walk through the Petersham Nurseries Kitchen Garden.

Inspired by tasters from lunch and what's in the garden, you will learn how to make sauerkraut and kimchi using autumnal produce.

You will make your own seasonal sauerkraut.

Kombucha taster and water kefir demonstration and tasters made using seasonal flavours such as Chamomile and Pear Kombucha and Elderberry Echinacea Kefir. You'll also learn how to pickle using kombucha and ferment nuts & grains using kefir.

There will be plenty of opportunities during the day and at the end of the masterclass to ask any questions you may have.
