Tasting olive oil is an art that requires a large amount of knowledge and practice, but it can also be fun and educational.

If you are passionate about foods and flavours and would like to expand your culinary knowledge, join us for an informative and educational talk that is sure to excite your taste buds whilst experiencing an array of different and exciting oils.

Learn about terroir, appearance, aroma and flavour, and assess milder, floral oils, progressing towards the greener, grassier varieties. Discover how different climates, region of origin, and age can affect the overall quality of the oil and discover how to pair your oils at home in the same way that you pair wines.

After the excesses of the festive season, this is an opportunity to prolong any healthy eating resolutions. Discover why olive oil is widely recognised as one of the healthiest edible oils playing such an important role in Mediterranean diets.

This class will be hosted by Petersham Cellar which was founded in 2013 by the Petersham Nurseries Managing Director Lara Boglione together with her husband Giovanni Mazzei of Marchesi Mazzei, Italy. An Italian wine merchant and wine club that curates both our wine menus in all three of our restaurants and is present in our Delicatessen in Covent Garden.

The Cellar team will present oils from the three Mazzei vineyards, Fonterutoli & Belguardo in Tuscany and Zisola in Sicily. Wine and soft drinks will be available during the event as well.
