A delightful and informative day spent learning how to use edible flowers in your kitchen together with a lunch in Petersham Nurseries Café

Edible flowers have been rapidly gaining popularity in the creative and culinary worlds and have always massively influenced our menu and style here at Petersham Nurseries.

Spend a day in our enchanting glasshouse with chef Alex Dome discovering how to select and cook with edible flowers. You will learn how to use pretty petals, whole flowers and leaves and herbs in savoury and sweet dishes, in preserves, teas, cocktails and in baking. Discover how using edible flowers can be not only be decorative but also how they can add delicious flavour when using in the kitchen.

The day will commence with refreshments from our Teahouse. During the morning, Alex will show you around Petersham Nurseries and the private kitchen garden where you will pick flowers that will be used throughout the morning. He will then discuss and demonstrate:

- Edible flower & herb pasta
- Rose petal jam
- Edible flower shortbread biscuits
- Nasturtium pesto
- Rose Geranium dressing
- Seafood crudo with borage
- Floral Bellini
- Refreshing tea infusion using Petershams own signature Giardino tea

You will then enjoy a delicious two course edible flower lunch in our glasshouse restaurant, Petersham Nurseries Café, beneath vine, bougainvillea and fragrant Jasmine. If the weather is fine, you will be lucky enough to dine al fresco.
