Tea Tasting: The Story of Tea, its History, Culture and Etiquette

31st January 2019 , Covent Garden

Short, insightful stories on tea to inspire your journey through The Petersham's beautiful Afternoon Tea.

About
You will be taken through a tasting of several classic and rare teas by Jennifer Wood, Founder of Canton Tea, to understand how tea became the world's most consumed drink, second only to water. We will touch on the culture and etiquette of early tea-drinking among the British aristocracy, the myths around particular Chinese teas, and a taste of the first English Breakfast blend, recreated from the original recipe made entirely from Chinese teas in 1843 by an Englishman in New York.

Includes Afternoon Tea in The Petersham, Covent Garden.

N.B Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
