Brunello di Montalcino Wine Lunch
In 1980, Brunello di Montalcino made history as Italy’s first wine to be awarded DOCG status. Brunello di Montalcino is made with a local Tuscan type of Sangiovese referred to as Brunello or Sangiovese Grosso. Noted for having thicker-skinned berries, Brunello produces wines with exceptionally bold fruit flavours, high tannin, and high acidity.
Petersham Nurseries Café is delighted to host a wine lunch event in the stunning greenhouse private dining room, showcasing a selection of wines from Brunello di Montalcino, guided by wine experts from Petersham Cellar.
Starting with a reception of vintage sparkling wine with canapes we will then sit down to a carefully curated 3 course meal to enjoy with 5 fine wines from this historic wine producing region. We will showcase wines from Tuscan powerhouse wineries such as Castello di Romitorio, Il Poggione, Ciacci Piccolomini and Castello Banfi
