This wine is a blend of three grapes: Pinot Nero, Barbera and Grignolino. It is an elegant wine where each grape adds a unique dimension, resulting in a multi-layered, complex but also well balanced wine. The nose is full of bright violets and red cherries with a slight note of dried orange peel. The palate is long and continuously evolves, starting off with lots of red cherries and wild strawberries before becoming more savoury with tones of leather, dried cranberry, herbs and finely crushed black pepper on the finish.
This wine is smooth and elegant, medium bodied with a refined acidic backbone. It would go very well with roasted wood-pigeon.
