This wine is the flagship from the Fonterutoli Estate in Tuscany and has gained international status as a top quality IGT Super Tuscan. The blend is 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot and therefore not classified as a Chianti Classico despite it being made there. It has a stunning nose, it is packed with lots of fresh concentrated dark fruits and some subtle herbs. On the palate there are blackcurrents, and cherries as well as espresso, chocolate, eucalyptus and licorice tones. It's full-bodied with a silky smooth texure and well integrated, fine gained tannins. The grapes for this prestigious wine are taken from the Siepi Vineyard, which is the Estates' best 6 hectares. It is a complex wine that would go incredibly well with wild boar, venison or other game dishes.
