The Art of Mindful Eating

Thursday, 22nd June 2017 10:00am - 12:00pm

Tickets:

Eating is something we all do several times a day and most of us take it for granted. Being more mindful and bringing our full attention to the quality of how we eat can radically change our experience. By focusing our awareness on the diversity of ingredients, where they come from and their texture and taste, we start to connect to food differently, nourishing our body, mind and heart.

Palma Michel is a sought-after public speaker, mindfulness teacher, coach and author (The Authority Guide To Mindful Leadership). She offers mindfulness as a way to exercise your brain and increase self-awareness, which is the first step to self-mastery. Her aim is to empower her clients to live with more presence, inner peace, gratitude and love for life. Palma holds monthly sessions at the Soho House Group and has been hosted by Jamie Oliver's Big Festival, Google Campus, Second Home and The London School of Economics. Launching the Farms Not Factories series of two minute video clips for social media with a number of renowned chefs and pig farmers, our Executive Chef, Damian Clisby will be joined in the kitchen by James Golding from The Pig Hotels. All who are behind this campaign are passionate about raising pigs to high welfare standards as well as the production of the best quality of meat in terms of flavour and texture. By exposing the true costs of cheap meat from animal factories, their aim is to inspire consumers to make more considered decisions in their meat consumption.

Tickets will include a seasonal Bellini on arrival, a three-course feast style sharing menu* with James Golding and Damian Clisby both cooking a course. Wine will be donated by Petersham Nurseries. All proceeds from the evening will go to Farms Not Factories.

Previous supporters include Joanna Lumley, Stephen Fry, Jeremy Irons, Jon Snow, Dominic West & Helen McCrory who have all posted humorous selfies or videos turning their nose up.
